The Emerald Sea by Richelle Mead - book review

An other 2018-book book review! The Emerald Sea is the third and final novel to the Glittering Court series, written by Richelle Mead!

If you are not familiar with this series, let me inform you! Each book follows a different heroine out of three friends; Adelaide, Mira and Tamsin. The Glittering Court is a kind of school that takes girls that were working at rich houses and turn them into real ladies ready to get married to a well established husband over at the far away colonies of Osfro. These three girls are attending the Glittering Court but each of them has a different reason. Their stories are being narrated during the same timeline, but don't let that discourage you as you are probably thinking that it is being repetitive. It is NOT! Sure, some dialogues between the three friends are the same but it is a really small part of the book as each character follows a completely different path.

In this book we follow Tamsin. Tamsin was my least favorite character of the three and I couldn't be more wrong!!!!!! We FINALLY found out her motives and what actually happened in her own journey. She is super strong, something we already knew, as well as stubborn but I kind of admired her in this book! Honestly, out of the three I don't know which to choose!!!

Other character in this book are Gideon, Dina and Jago. Well, Dina I hated as most of you do I believe! She was soooo eww!!
Gideon was in general a nice guy but he seemed to care more about what other people are thinking than what his heart was telling him. And Jago was my favorite, of course! He is the not-so-hot but so-humorous guy, a trope that really makes me fall for in my real life as well!

Also all three of these books have beautiful couple ships!! 💕 Again... I can't choose my favorite! Wow!

Who would you choose if you have read the series?

I rated this book with 4 stars and I would really recommend it to all romantic souls out there!

Some of my favorite quotes:

"If you're on the path of right, and someone crosses it with wrong, you don't need to turn. Build a bridge over their path and continue on your way."
- Icori proverb!

“Being next to him like this made me feel as though everything really would be okay. Not because he’d fix things for me, but because I was reminded of the good in my life and why I had to fight for it. I won’t admit defeat again.”

People see what they're expecting to see.

The dazzling conclusion to #1 New York Times bestselling author Richelle Mead's The Glittering Court series.
Meet Tamsin, the Glittering Court's hard-angled emerald. Her outsized aspirations make her a fierce competitor, rising to the top of the ranks. But when the ship she boards for the New World is tragically lost at sea, she is quite literally thrown off-course.

See you next time!
