Sightwitch by Susan Dennard - book review
This is a prequel to Truthwitch of The Witchlands novels by Susan Dennard! You can read it prior to Truthwitch and start the series from here too, even though the main world-building takes place in the first book of the series.
This novels is written in diary entries, by two different sightwitches: Ryber Fortiza and Eridysi Gochienka. I loved both story-lines but I loved a bit more Eridysi's story. Just because Ryber's is still not finished and I believe we will meet her again!

There is great humor that made me laugh out loud a lot and that I enjoyed! Eridysi's story is so cute and made me smile like a child! And both Ryber and Eridysi are great main female characters! Both strong and loyal to their sisters.
I can't believe that we have to wait one more year for Bloodwitch... I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
As expected I rated this book with 5 stars!
Some of my favorite quotes:
“All the records and memories we’d kept were soon forgotten, for history is all too easily rewritten and the past is all too easily erased.”
“We value things more when we know they won’t last forever.”
“Paths do not come to you. You have to find them for yourself, and sometimes, you have to carve new ones entirely.”
"A person can grieve for herself yet still revel in someone else's good fortune."
That's all for now!
Thank you for reading it!
See you soon !
xoxo Joan!

Before Safi and Iseult battled a Bloodwitch...
Before Merik returned from the dead…
Ryber Fortiza was a Sightwitch Sister at a secluded convent, waiting to be called by her goddess into the depths of the mountain. There she would receive the gift of foretelling. But when that call never comes, Ryber finds herself the only Sister without the Sight.
Years pass and Ryber’s misfit pain becomes a dull ache, until one day, Sisters who already possess the Sight are summoned into the mountain, never to return. Soon enough, Ryber is the only Sister left. Now, it is up to her to save her Sisters, though she does not have the Sight—and though she does not know what might await her inside the mountain.
On her journey underground, she encounters a young captain named Kullen Ikray, who has no memory of who he is or how he got there. Together, the two journey ever deeper in search of answers, their road filled with horrors, and what they find at the end of that road will alter the fate of the Witchlands forever.
Set a year before Truthwitch, Sightwitch is a companion novella that also serves as a set up to Bloodwitch, as well as an expansion of the Witchlands world.
