Throne of Glass #0 Prequel - The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas

I am obsessed with Sarah J. Maas' writing! Every book of hers becomes one of my favorite reads! This one is a prequel to The Throne Of Glass series and consists of five stories following Celaena back in the days where she was an assassin in the keep along with Arobynn, Sam and more amazing characters!

I read this book after The Throne of Glass, but you can definitely read it first!
OMG! Meeting Sam... It was so overwhelming! So many feelings!!!!! Sam was the one and only!!!!  I want more stories with Sam NOW!!!! I want to know everything about him and I can't have enough!

1. THE ASSASSIN AND THE PIRATE LORD

Celaena and Sam are sent by Arobynn to Skull's Bay to collect a debt from the pirate Lord Rolfe. But Arobynn hadn't estimated that Celaena may not agree with his plans! It was a delight reading about her younger version! Her sassy character is so entertaining! I liked how her relationship with Sam was built during all these novellas.

2. THE ASSASSIN AND THE HEALER

In this story we meet Irene Towers, a young aspiring healer working at an inn where Celaena stays for a few days. Having challenged her master, Celaena has to meet the Mute Master of Assassins, earn his respect and train there for a month, as a punishment.

3. THE ASSASSIN AND THE DESERT

This story covers the month in the Red Desert with the Silent Assassins. It is a beautiful one with friendships, romance and betrayals. So many things happen and it is wonderful how much the characters develop during each novella.

4. THE ASSASSIN AND THE UNDERWORLD

The King of Assassins sends Celaena for a special assignment in the dirtiest parts of the city in the fourth novella. However I liked the most how her relationship with Sam evolves and this is probably the sweetest little story in Celaena's young life!

5. THE ASSASSIN AND THE EMPIRE

This novella... Oh-my-God! I was waiting for this one with so much anticipation and anxiety, even though I knew the ending having read the Throne of Glass first! This last story literally broke my heart and made me cry! So many feels!

My favorite self! My Sara J. Maas book collection!

Another 5/5 stars! I have read some great books this year!

Some of my favorite quotes:

“Life isn't easy, no matter where you are. You'll make choices you think are right, and then suffer for them.”

“If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it- to love it. Some endure it through drowning it in sorrow, or by making themselves forget. Others turn it into anger.”

“I love you,” he repeated, shaking her again. “I have for years. But if I asked you to pick, you’d choose Arobynn, and I. Can’t. Take. It.”
“You’re a damned idiot,” she breathed grabbing the front of his tunic. “You’re a moron and an ass and a damned idiot." He looked like she had hit him. But she went on, and grasped both sides of his face. “Because I’d pick you.”

“My name is Celaena Sardothien, and I will not be afraid.”
